I collect quotes like a crow collects shiny objects: I don’t always know what they’re for, but I just can’t resist them. So when the
lovely and talented Laurie at Meditations In Motion tags me for a quote challenge, I’m IN.
This time, the topic is as broad and evocative as a Final Jeopardy category: Living Life.
If this idea tickles your fancy enough to want to join in, you are most welcome! Here are the rules:
1.Thank the Selector
2. Post 2 quotes for the dedicated Topic of the Day.
3. Select 3 bloggers to take part in ‘3.2.1 Quote Me!’
So, with thanks to Laurie, here are my picks. First up is this one:
I used to think this was from Albert Einstein (who said some great stuff; he was actually pretty smart), but really it’s from filmmaker Francois Truffaut. Anyway, it has long been one of my faves. For one thing, it is inarguable: who of us, including Truffaut, including George Lucas even, could dream up a creature as improbable as the okapi?
Is it a zebra? Is it a stubby giraffe? No, it’s an okapi!
Moreover, I find this quote comforting. It’s a reminder that there is something operating in existence that is far beyond my understanding, and it comes up with some pretty cool stuff.
Next up:
Having just passed a fairly impressive birthday, I can attest to the truth of this one. And it is very, very liberating.
OK, I’m not quite there yet. Nor will I ever again smoke. But you get my drift.
Now for #3, tagging other bloggers. Listen up, you three: you’re IT!
