Haiku With Poo

My Dog and I Share the Same Path But Not the Same Goals

A walk with my dog:
I seek oneness with nature
She seeks a buffet

My dog eats green grass
Cow-like; long blades that get stuck
I’ll spare you the rest

My dog and I spot
A fluffy little vole! She
Eats it in one bite

Deer have wandered here
Leaving signs of their passage
My dog eats their poop

My dog beside me
I meditate in silence
Until she barfs dear poop

We’re home! My dog runs
To find her favorite treat:
The cat’s litter box
